Heureka Science Center: Water – the Stream of Life

For the exhibition “Water – The Stream of Life” at the Heureka Science Centre, Interactive Scape has worked with the museum’s design team to develop an app that conveys knowledge about water in a playful way, covering topics such as infrastructure, biology and cultural aspects.
The app is primarily designed for children and young people, who can explore hotspots along a virtual river on a 55-inch Scape® Tangible Display using two Scape X® Magnify Rings. This design echoes the S-shaped architecture of the exhibition and mirrors the dioramas along the real watercourse within the hotspots. An interactive particle system invites visitors to play with the river: they can dam up and divert the virtual water, just as the real water in the exhibit opposite can be dammed up and diverted.
