Scape X® Surfaces redefines where and how digital interaction happens. Instead of being limited to screens, the patented Scape X® AI‑based object recognition system is integrated into premium physical surfaces such as Corian®, wood foils, and other tabletop‑grade materials. Developed in collaboration with DISPLAX, a leading provider of advanced PCAP sensors and interactive glass, Scape X® Surfaces combines the Scape X® Engine, precise projection mapping, and high-end PCAP sensor into a seamless, invisible interface.

The result is a sleek, elegant design that looks and feels like a normal table or surface. When interactive objects are placed on the surface, the system recognizes them and triggers related content; when the objects are lifted, the projector automatically stops, and the surface returns to its role as a traditional table that can be used for everyday tasks. This subtle on‑and‑off behavior creates a softer, less digital psychological impression than a permanently lit multitouch display, making it ideal for environments where design and atmosphere are as important as functionality.

FAQ

Which software is compatible with your hardware?

You can develop your own application or contact our partners, who will do this for you. Thanks to our robust hardware solutions and the revolutionary Scape X® Engine with open access to TUIO, we enable anyone to develop multi-touch applications with object recognition. All you need is a software framework that can communicate via the standardised open-source TUIO protocol (e.g. Unity, Ventuz, smartPerform, vvvv, Intuiface, Nuiteq Snowflake and many more). Integration is straightforward thanks to ready-to-use TUIO libraries in JavaScript, C++, C#, Python and Java.

Which displays are compatible with the Scape X® Module?

Compatibility depends on whether the hardware has been approved as part of the Scape X® Certification process. Examples of proven and certified compatible hardware include DISPLAX Tile Pro | Scape X® and Round Touch (23"), selected TSI Touch displays (43", 55", 65", 75"), a 32" Conversar display, and Scape X® Surfaces configurations.

What happens if an object is stolen?

We are often asked this question at the start of new projects with new clients. Apart from unforeseen cases of vandalism, we can only say that we have hardly ever been notified of such an incident to date. Should this ever happen to your objects at a trade fair or in a museum, there is no need to worry – our Scape X® object recognition technology enables our clients to easily change an object’s ID to any other desired or required ID within seconds, directly on your multi-touch display.

This requires neither our assistance nor any additional software. All you need is the pre-configured Scape X® Assistant (TOA), which you can find here (DE | EN).
